She became a naturalized citizen of the US in In he married Miss Emma Hoffman. She died Feb 4, and nine years later he married again, Sallie Kelly.

Preceding taken from the Zion German Methodist Cemetery file regarding the life and burial of his first wife, where also occurred the burial of two of their children, Irvin and Margaret. His father was employed in the railroad shops when they lived in Michigan. The family moved from Michigan back to Ontario, Canada, near Toronto and the father worked in a glove factory, although a carpenter by trade. The family came west in and stopped at Seattle where the elder MacMaster worked at his trade after the big Seattle fire. From Seattle the family moved to a homestead, a salt water marsh, in Island County, Washington.

The land was very rich, but had to be reclaimed by dyking. He reclaimed a portion of it, but caution had to be exercised that no fire got started in this soil as it would burn, peat being a large percentage of its composition.

Frank D left the farm when 19 years old, coming to Sprague, Lincoln County where he worked for his brother-in-law, W F Smith , who was engaged in horse raising near Lake Colville. When 25 years old he married Miss Emma Hoffman. She died and nine years later he married again, this time, Sally Kelly.

In the two families there were a total of 11 children, but only nine are now surviving. He lost his home place in the Rocklyn neighborhood three or four years ago and now leases the William Ragan place. He just recently killed a big rattler that had lost all of his rattles, making it more dangerous for his snakeship to be at large, as it could give no warning when approached. She died Dec 8 in a Spokane hospital after living in and around Davenport, on the coast and in Deer Park.

She also had 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Times: Survived by her husband, Fred W Magin, at the home. Numerous nieces and nephews.
